Radio Frequencies

It is of utmost importance to inform you that the 5G standard will be already in place at the time of the event. Therefore please double check all your RF equipment frequency authorisations and ranges before hand in order to avoid any interference that would impact your on-site activity.

The Italian Ministry for Economic Development (Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico - MiSE) monitors the electronic communications and postal sectors in Italy. The authority works with consumer and competition issues, efficient utilisation of resources and secure communications.

The MiSE Spectrum department is responsible for:

  • Policy and rules for the frequency spectrum,
  • Frequency planning
  • Granting licenses for individual radio transmitters.
  • Market control and issues concerning radio supervision

Radio and wireless equipment (camera links, telemetric, wireless microphones, communication, etc.) needs to have frequency authorization from the MiSE. Specific authorisation needs to be provided for different services. Different procedures are applying for different type of services:

  •     Professional systems (e.g. satellite or professional service on specific frequencies)
  •     Private systems (e.g. PMR446, CB, professional radio microphones)

Guidelines for temporary RF authorisation and Sample RF Request Forms form the local authorities can be found in the section Downloads and Updates.

  • DEADLINE FOR TEMPORARY and PROFESSIONAL LICENCE

According to previous experience, the Radio frequencies authorization takes about 45 days, if all the documents are delivered correctly.

The deadline for submitting all your Radio Frequencies requests will then be December 1st 2019.
