IBU World Championships Antholz 2020
The first international biathlon race in Antholz took place under the direction of the local resident and biathlon enthusiast Paul Zingerle as early as 1971.
Today, the name of Anterselva is as strongly associated with biathlon as Ruhpolding, Oberhof and Holmenkollen, with a world-class sports centre in the upper Anterselva valley.
The legacy of Paul Zingerle continues through the Local Organising Committee. The current LOC, also under the name of the "Biathlon Weltcup Komitee”, organises World Cup Events and the IBU World Championships Biathlon Antholz 2020. It is located directly at the Biathlon stadium at Antholz Obertal/Anterselva di Sopra .
