The European Broadcasting Union is producing the Eurovision Presidential Debate, live from the European Parliament in Brussels on 15 May 2019 at 21:00 CET. This is the second edition of the Eurovision Debate.
This 90-minute production is offered free-of-charge.
The discussion will be mainly in English but simultaneous interpretation for all 24 official EU languages will be available: Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovene, Spanish and Swedish.
The following six lead candidates running to be President of the European Commission ("Spitzenkandidaten") will discuss during the EU Elections debate:
- Nico CUÉ, European Left (EL)
- Ska KELLER, European Green Party (EGP)
- Jan ZAHRADIL, Alliance of Conservatives and Reformists in Europe (ACRE)
- Margrethe VESTAGER, Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE)
- Manfred WEBER, European People’s Party (EPP)
- Frans TIMMERMANS, Party of European Socialists (PES)
The live debate will be moderated by TV anchors Markus Preiss (ARD WDR), Emilie Tran-Nguyen (France Télévisions) and Annastiina Heikkilä (Yle).
