Strasbourg Christmas Market Shooting


Manhunt continues for the gunman who opened fire at a Christmas market in Strasbourg Police union officials identified on Wednesday the suspected assailant as Cherif Chekatt, a 29-year-old with a thick police record for crimes including armed robbery. France immediately raised its terror alert level. A Manhunt is underway. France's anti-terror prosecutor said two people were killed and one left brain-dead in Tuesday's attack in the eastern French city.

COP24 - United Nations Climate Change Conference


The 24th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 24) to the UNFCCC will take place from 3-14 December 2018 in the city of Katowice, Poland. COP 24 is expected to finalize the rules for implementation of the Paris Agreement on climate change under the Paris Agreement work program.

Pope Francis will celebrate Christmas Eve Mass and deliver his ‘Urbi et Orbi’ Christmas message. The Pontiff will preside over the traditional Christmas Eve mass in Saint Peter's Basilica on December 24. At midday on Christmas day Pope Francis will deliver his Urbi et Orbi message (Latin for "to the city and to the world") from the central Loggia of the Vatican Basilica. Tens of thousands of people are expected to gather in Saint Peter's Square to hear the Pope’s Christmas day message.

Berlin International Film Festival 2019
