Biden trip to Ireland

Following his visit to Northern Ireland on 11-12 April, US President Biden will visit the Republic of Ireland on 12-14 April. He will deliver an address the Oireachtas (Irish parliament) on Thursday, and travel to Mayo County to speak at an event outside St Muredach's Cathedral.

EBU member RTE will act as Host Broadcaster for President Biden’s visit to the Republic, delivering core coverage (live and recorded) of set piece events. For the avoidance of any confusion, please note that RTE’s Host Broadcast coverage applies only to events in the Republic of Ireland on 12-14 April, not to any events in Northern Ireland on 11-12 April.

Eurovision News Events, on behalf of our EBU member and Host Broadcaster RTE, will distribute the Host TV coverage of Biden's visit to Ireland via satellite free of charge over Europe. PLEASE SEE USAGE RESTRICTIONS BELOW

Approximate schedule is as follows:

Friday 14th April

1300 -1400        Arrival at Ireland West Airport - Live 3 camera OB coverage (Will include ENG of Departure from Dublin Airport from earlier)

1400- 1500       Visit to Knock Shrine - 3 or 4 Live U coverage - same health warning as yesterday - We will cut them live but we will be unable to guarantee signal stability and for that reason we do not recommend taking Live. If signal interruptions occur we will refeed after as soon as possible.

1600-1800       Enniscoe House - ENG coverage of Heritage centre visit - playout as soon as possible after gathering of footage.

1900 onwards   Concert in Ballina, Co. Mayo, followed by POTUS address (indicative speech time from 2100 onwards but this is very TBC) - separate restrictions may apply as this is a White House TV produced feed that we are on passing to the Host

RTÉ’s Host Broadcast feed is relaying coverage of this event provided by The White House.

It is free of charge on a News Access basis to all news broadcasters and digital platforms.

The White House asks that this feed not be used for commercial or promotional purposes.
