The announcement of the 2024 Right Livelihood laureates will take place on 3 October at 6am GMT during a live press conference, presented by Executive Director of RLA, Ole von Uexkull.
For 45 years, the Right Livelihood Award has honoured and supported courageous people solving global problems. By recognising the actions of brave visionaries and building impactful connections around the world, the Award boosts urgent and long-term social change. This year's four recipients were chosen from among 176 nominations from 72 countries submitted through an open nominations process.
The 2024 Right Livelihood laureates will be announced by Ole von Uexkull, Right Livelihood’s Executive Director, during a press conference at 0600 GMT on 3 October 2024, with the recipients being awarded during a televised ceremony in Stockholm on 4 December. The announcement will be in English and then a shorter version in Swedish.
On behalf of Right Livelihood, Eurovision News Events will be distributing this event LIVE via satellite over Europe; the material will be accessible to all, free of charge and free of rights. Short video portraits of the Laureates will also be broadcasted after the announcement.
The recording of the conference, along with interviews and B-roll of each new Laureate, will also be available worldwide for download in full broadcast quality on our Eurovision VOD platform, NewsDirect.
