Distribution of the Inauguration Mass of Pope Leo XIV

Sunday 18 May 2025, Fifth Sunday of Easter, Pope Leo XIV will preside over the Eucharistic Celebration for the Beginning of the Petrine Ministry of the Bishop of Rome, in St. Peter’s Square. The Holy Mass for the Beginning of the Pontificate is expected to last approximately over two hours.

Eurovision News Events, on behalf of Vatican Media, will distribute the Holy Mass for the Beginning of the Pontificate of Pope Leo XIV from 0650 GMT (0850 CET) to approximately 1130 GMT (1330 CET), on satellite over Europe, MENA and Americas, and via The Switch in the US. For access over Asia and Africa, please contact us for details.

The Regina Caeli is included in the live broadcast, and it will be held in St. Peter Square after the Holy Mass for the Beginning of the Pontificate. Pope Leo XIV is expected to greet delegations and guests in St. Peter’s Basilica at the end of the Regina Caeli.

Distribution of Accreditation cards

The accreditation cards will be distributed at the Accreditation Office, with access from Via della Conciliazione, 54, from Monday to Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

In addition, a platform pass is required to access  EBU platform Piazza Pio . Please contact us to apply. The platform pass will be active ONLY for those broadcasters who have a dedicated position on the platform or if they have a booking with Eurovision News Events. 
Your QR code will be active only for the day of your booking. There is no space available for roaming teams.
