Our Dubai bureau coordinated the live satellite broadcast services for a popular local sport

Camel racing is a popular sport throughout the Gulf region with events taking place early on Thursday and Friday mornings during the winter months.  Human jockeys have now been replaced by remote-controlled robots, but the races remain a thrilling spectacle as all the owners race alongside the track in their SUVs, beeping their horns to encourage their camels.

"We are pleased to provide the transmission services for this event because it is important in the region. Our Middle East bureau in Dubai is committed to supporting local, regional and international broadcasters with media services," said Jorge Simao, Eurovision Services Middle East bureau chief.

Anas Athamneh from Eurovision Services Dubai office coordinated the satellite transmission of last week's race at the Al Dhaid race track in Sharjah, providing an SNG truck in the heart of the desert and satellite capacity for the live coverage of this two-day event on the Al-Wusta Channel channel, which is dedicated to covering events in the central region of the Emirate of Sharjah.
