On Friday, 26 November 2021, at 15:00, the NATO Secretary General will brief the press at NATO HQ ahead of the meeting of the NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs, which will be held in Riga, Latvia, on Tuesday 30 November and Wednesday 01 December 2021. Overview

NATO Foreign Ministers will meet in Riga, Latvia on 30 November and 1 December 2021 to consult on a range of security issues. They will address Russia and its military build-up in and around Ukraine. Allies will also meet with Georgia and Ukraine to discuss NATO’s strong support for both countries. NATO Foreign Ministers will also assess the wider security environment, including the situation on Allies’ borders with Belarus. They will address NATO’s role in arms control, and also exchange views on the Alliance’s next Strategic Concept. Ministers will also consider the lessons learned from NATO’s engagement in Afghanistan. The final session will focus on developments in the Western Balkans, with Finland, Sweden, and the EU High Representative joining the discussion. The Secretary General will brief the media ahead of the Ministerial and on each day of the meeting. “
