Overview

7-9/5 RUSSIA / VICTORY DAY PARADE : MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin will host Chinese leader Xi Jinping and other world figures at the May 9 Victory Parade in Red Square, this year marking 80 years since the end of World War II.

  • May 7 – final parade rehearsal with troops and weaponry in Red Square (time TBA)
  • May 8 – eve of parade with leaders arriving in Moscow
  • May 9 – parade (start 07:00GMT), fireworks over Red Square (start 19:00GMT approx.)

 

EBU will operate a LIVE standup position close to Red Square, by the walls of the Kremlin, and provide POOL coverage of the parade and related events.

ACCREDITATIONS AND VISAS FOR RUSSIA

Accreditation for journalists has now opened and members need to accredit and start the visa application process for any correspondents wishing to travel to Russia for the Parade.

There are two stages :

  • Accreditation with the Kremlin
    Here is the link for EBU Members to get Kremlin accreditations to cover the 9-May Event, 31 March is the deadline for accreditation.
    Please answer ‘Yes’ to the visa question – this will help get fast-track MFA entry journalist visa support for those EBU Members who do not have visas and temporary MFA press-cards.
     
  • Letter to Russian MFA for visa support
    Members will also need to apply to the Russian MFA for a temporary correspondent visa to cover the parade, please see the attached form letter, which members need to send themselves.  For Members wanting to ask for temporary correspondent accreditation to Russia,  the request needs to come direct from your head office and be sent to the Russian MFA.
    You need to fill in the form letter which is attached and send this, together with a copy of the passport, press card and electronic photo to E-mail address pc.mid@yandex.ru.
