On 26 July 2024, Paris 2024 will offer an Opening Ceremony to celebrate the Olympic spirit and most memorable moments in Olympic history.

The 2024 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad and commonly known as Paris 2024, is an upcoming international multi-sport event scheduled to take place from 26 July to 11 August 2024 in France, with Paris as the main host city and 16 other cities spread across metropolitan France, plus one subsite in Tahiti.

The Democratic National Convention will take place on 19-22 August 2024. It is expected to draw 5 000 to 7 000 delegates and alternates and attract up to 50 000 visitors to Chicago.  

September 3-6, 2024, will mark Pope Francis's first State Visit to Indonesia. Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, and Singapore will be the next stops on Pope Francis' Asia Pacific journey, with Indonesia serving as the first stop. The visit of Pope Francis to Indonesia holds significant importance to the Indonesian people, not only for Catholics, but also for all religious communities. The visit is also expected to strengthen the message of tolerance, unity and world peace.

The Pope is set to visit Papua New Guinea on the 6th – 9th September, 2024. According officials, The Pope will stay at the Vatican Embassy on the 6th of September, 2024, and will pay a visit to the Governor General of PNG. He will then proceed to APEC Haus to meet with our state leaders on the 7th of September, followed by a gathering with the PNG Council of Churches.

His Holiness Pope Francis will visit Timor-Leste from September 9th to 11th, 2024. Tasi Tolu will welcome the main Eucharistic celebration of the visit. The coming of Pope Francis is expected to be "a moment of blessing and spiritual renewal for all Timorese, inspiring each of us to continue building a society based on the values of peace, solidarity and fraternity."

Pope Francis will be visiting Singapore from 11-13 September 2024. Apart from official State engagements, the highlight of Pope Francis’ visit is expected to be a Eucharistic celebration with his flock, likely on 12 September 2024. It has been 38 years since Singapore had a visit from the Vicar of Christ.

Trump's sentence has been postponed to September 18 2024 by Judge Juan Merchan after a Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity. The former US President had been scheduled to face sentencing on July 11 after being convicted on 34 charges on falsifying business records in a New York hush money trial. 

Pope Francis - who reaches eighty-eight in December - will visit Luxembourg in late September. On September 26, at 0800GMT, he will be greeted at Findel by the Grand Duke and Duchess, as well as Luxembourgish Prime Minister Luc Frieden. During the Pope's visit, he will celebrate Mass for the nations' faithful in Luxembourg's Notre Dame, and, as usual, meet with religious, authorities, and privately with his Jesuit confrères.

September will see Pope Francis travel to Belgium, which will be significant as the Pope does not often travel to European nations. The papal-led Eucharistic ceremony on Sunday, September 29, at 10 AM in Brussels' King Baudouin Stadium will be the high point of the visit. A major highlight of the tour will be the 600th anniversary celebrations at KU Leuven and UCLouvain.

On September 29, 2024, Austria will hold legislative elections to choose the 28th National Council, which is the lower house of the country's bicameral parliament.

The race for the 2024 Republican White House nomination is heating up. Several big-name and dark-horse contenders have joined an increasingly crowded field in recent weeks. All are seeking to unseat the current front-runner, former President Donald Trump, who continues to dominate in national opinion polls. The 37th European Film Awards, which will be held in Switzerland for the first time, will present the prizes for the greatest European films of the year, taken on a year-long journey of discovery through an extensive supporting program featuring film screenings, discussions, and cultural events. The Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre (KKL Luzern) will host the award ceremony on December 7, 2024.

Inauguration Day occurs every four years on January 20 (or January 21 if January 20 falls on a Sunday). The inauguration ceremony takes place at the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, DC. The next presidential inauguration is scheduled to be on January 20, 2025.
