With just days to go ahead of one of the highly anticipated presidential elections in Brazil, former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has further widened his lead over incumbent Jair Bolsonaro. A recent poll shows former president Lula with a 13-percentage point lead over his far-right rival. The election could see the return of the world’s fourth-largest democracy to a leftist government after four-years of far-right leadership under Bolsonaro.
