Pope Francis visits Geneva

Pope Francis is due to visit Geneva, Switzerland on 21 June 2018.

While in Geneva, Pope Francis will attend a meeting of the World Council of Churches (WCC), which has some 350 member churches and represents around 500 million Christians globally. The Roman Catholic Church is not a member of the WCC but it does send observers to WCC meetings. The Pope will also hold a mass at the Palexpo convention centre, which is scheduled to begin at 1530 GMT. During his visit, Pope Francis is also expected to meet with members of the Swiss government.

Media are invited to apply for accreditation to the Central Committee meeting by completing attached accreditation form and return it to WCC Communication Department via email: Deadline 31 May 2018.

Daily press briefings  will be held at at the Ecumenical Centre until 20 June.
