68th Berlin International Film Festival

Wes Anderson’s animated “Isle of Dogs” will open the 2018 Berlin Film Festival on Thursday, 15 February. It will be whimsical auteur Anderson’s fourth film in competition at the Berlinale.  “The Grand Budapest Hotel” also opened the Berlin Film Festival and won the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize. The all-star voice lineup boasts Edward Norton, Liev Schreiber, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Yoko Ono and Harvey Keitel.

Alongside the Isle of Dogs, seven productions and co-productions from France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Serbia, the Russian Federation, and the USA have been invited to take part in the Competition.

Tom Tykwer, the director of “Run Lola Run,” “Cloud Atlas” and “A Hologram for the King,” will preside over the jury. As jury president of the next Berlinale, Tykwer follows in the footsteps of Meryl Streep, Wong Kar Wai, Mike Leigh, Isabella Rossellini, Werner Herzog and Paul Verhoeven.

The 68th Berlin Film Festival runs from Feb. 15 to 25, 2018.
