Papal Consistory To Create New Cardinals

Pope Francis will elevate five Roman Catholic prelates to the high rank of cardinal on 28 June 2017.

The surprise annoucement was made by the Pope on Sunday, 21 May, during his weekly Sunday address. He said the men came from Mali, Spain, Sweden, Laos and El Salvador.  The ceremony is known as a concistory.  Cardinals are the elite group of chruchement wo are the closest advisors to the Pope and can enter a conclave to choose his successor if they are under 80 years of age. 

Operation:

Eurovison Special Events, in cooperation with MH Eurovision Roma, is offering comphrehensive production and transmission facilities from its permanent bureau in Via della Conciliazione 44, just a few steps from St. Peter's Square.

Facilities:

- Standup position for HD/SD Live programme inserts with view of St. Peter's Square Basilica and the           Vatican
    - 2-camera HD/SD studios overlooking the Vatican for Live programme inserts
    - Playout (multi-format) from the Eurovision bureau
    - Connectivity to the Eurovision Global Network in SD & HD
    - Workspaces with pool distribution and LAN/wifi (limited number)
    - Fully-equipped radio commentary positions (limited number)

Access to the Eurovision Rome Bureau does not require specific accreditation, however please note access to the St. Peter's Square & the Vatican, including surrounding streets, may be restricted to holders of specific passes (click for more info).
