Please note that the company registration process includes a credit check of the company and can take from one to three weeks to complete. If you need Eurovision services before your company registration is confirmed, we can provide services with advance payment. In this case, you will need to contact marketing@eurovision.net and arrange a pro-forma invoice at least 48 hours before your transmission.
The operational code (ops code) is Eurovision's identification for your organization.
The ops code can be four letters or more with the first two letters indicating the country (GB Great Britain, ES Spain, FR France, IT Italy etc.). The rest of the letters identify the broadcaster (ie GB BBC, IT RAI). When the ops code you have chosen does not match with the domain of your email address, the registration is automatically rejected or blocked.
If you're sure that your company exists in our system, but you don't know the operational code, contact us.

Eurovision does not accept registrations with ISP addresses like gmail, hotmail or yahoo - even if these types of addresses are used as official company emails.
Eurovision.net does not assign users a login and password. Each user creates his or her own login and password during the registration process. If you filled in the registration form and gave us your name, email and company, we will send you an email which will take you to another form which asks a few more questions and helps you create your own login and password.

The Eurovision Song Contest web site is www.eurovision.tv and not this web site, www.eurovision.net. The names are similar but the Song Contest web site’s name ends with tv.
The Eurovision Song Contest is not shown or streamed on www.eurovision.net. We do help broadcasters professionally cover the Eurovision Song Contest with tools on our web site. Login and click on Transmission Services. From the four black icons indicating booking types, at the top next to BOOK NOW, choose your transmission type.
![]() One-Stop Shop |
![]() Space Segment |
![]() Special Event |
![]() Unilateral |
One-Stop Shop (Eurovision books facilities and circuits and issues one invoice for all)
Unilateral (point to point, usually not from an OSS partner)
Special Event (from a special event feedpoint, ie summit, leader visit, breaking news etc), see News & Events
Space Segment (satellite space only, no uplink, usually to be used with an SNG or satellite truck and not a fixed antenna)
Once you've determined which type of transmission to choose, click on the correct box.
The origin is where you want to transmit from (the origin of the signal), and the destination is where would you like to receive the transmission (the destination of the signal).
For Space Segment requests you will also be asked to give us information about your uplink antenna (SNG van, fly-away or other). We always ask for the uplink registration and the contact number for the operator so our master control (EVC) can contact the technician before, during and after the transmission.
The ORIGIN SERVICE is where your transmission is coming from (the name of the company and city where the signal or material is originates).
For One-Stop Shop bookings, the ORIGIN SERVICE is required to be one of our OSS partners;
For Unilateral bookings, the origin would be the company where you booked your playout or studio;
For Special Events the ORIGIN FEEDPOINT is the Eurovision news operation location. Special event origins will automatically appear (usually ZZEBU CITY) when the event is chosen using the online Special Events booking tool.
The Special Events booking tool can be reached from Transmission Services or from the News & Events list by clicking the BOOK button directly to the right of the Special Event for which you would like to book a transmission.
For Unilaterals, One-Stop Shop and Space Segment bookings you can filter ORIGIN SERVICES by country by clicking on the small arrow at the far right. If you select FRANCE, for example, the ORIGIN SERVICE list will then only show origins in France.
The ORIGIN CITY (for Unilateral and Space Segment only) is the name of the city where the signal first begins (ie where your correspondent or guest is physically for a live or where the tape is being fed).
Because many transmissions are booked for the purpose of news gathering by the TV stations transmitting live and tape feeds from various remote locations to their main premises, the booking tool will set your company (OPS CODE and City) as the default destination. You can change this by clicking on the drop-down menu and overriding the default if you wish to receive the transmission elsewhere, for example at a bureau in another city.
Please note that you will only see tape/live formats which are available from the location you have chosen. Therefore, it is very important that you carefully select your origin before going to the PRODUCT tab.
The ADDITIONAL ITEMS field is for details regarding editing and any other comments. If editing is requested, please specify the tape format, total editing time needed as well as whether the edit is required with or without an editor.
Any additional needs such as tape duplication or other should be added in this first field. The second field for additional items and can include which chromakey background or standup background is preferred for live standups or studios.
Unless you have specific audio and video specifications, the settings which come up automatically are those that are most frequently used. You can also set your default settings in MY PREFERENCES found in MY Eurovision at MY PROFILE.
Bit Rates refer to the quality of your transmission. Currently, most transmissions are done in 11 Mbit/s SD, but a certain number of transmissions require higher bitrates, including HD. Please note that the Bit Rate chosen determines the transmission rate card.
The + before the country code means "Please add whatever digits necessary for international calls from your location" (in the US, dialers add 011, in many European countries, it is 00), then the country code (ie 33 for France, 39 for Italy or 1 for the US). Finally, please add the telephone number.
If you want to make additional bookings from the same origin, for the same product (UNI, OSS, Special Events, Space Segment), please click on "Make additional bookings for the same origin" which is at the bottom of the SUBMISSION tab
Then, the "+" sign opens separate date and time fields where you can enter the additional booking.
Please note that your additional bookings will have the same parameters and products (live, tape format) as the main request. The rate indicated in the booking application refers only to your main booking request.
A synopsis is the name for a Eurovision transmission technical confirmation. The word ‘synopsis’ itself is defined as a brief statement giving a general view of some subject. For Eurovision, a synopsis is the general view of a transmission. The synopsis includes the reference number, date, time, origin, destination, technical details (routing on satellite and/or fiber as well as tech parameters) and Eurovision contacts.
When a transmission is requested, it is entered in our system, planned and then a synopsis is issued to all parties concerned (origin, destination, turnaround points). Depending on various factors such as transmission complexity (involving various fibers and satellites), availability of resources, rights etc, a transmission can be planned quickly or take several days or even weeks... for example transmissions related to sports events where schedules are not yet finalized and resources are being allocated by Eurovision, the Programme Department and the host broadcaster.
After a transmission is completely planned and the synopsis is issued, then the synopsis becomes available. Either it is sent to the official technical entity (like a master control) of your company or the person who was designated as the receiver of these confirmations when your account was opened with Eurovision.
While the official confirmation is emailed, you can also see transmissions for your company on our web site, www.eurovision.net. Everyone in your company that registers with the same official company email has the same access to the transmission information. No more waiting for emails is necessary since the synopsis appears on the web site as soon as the Planner clicks send.
As a Eurovision.net registered user, you can see all your transmissions on MY Eurovision, MY TRANSMISSIONS after you log in.
By clicking on TRANSMISSION SERVICES and then One-Stop Shop (the menu item on the left of the screen) you can find our list of worldwide One-Stop Shop (also called OSS) partners. They are listed as a worldwide group here and also broken down on individual pages into regions -Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, Latin America, Middle East, Russia and the CIS.
If you already know which city and partner you would like to book, click on the black icon One-Stop Shop to go to the booking page directly.
With any One-Stop Shop request(s), Eurovision is your single poin of contact for circuits and facilities. Eurovision books your playout/studio, provides you location details and IFB/contact numbers, provides support and monitors your transmission. Once it's over, Eurovision sends you one invoice for the whole service. This way, you do not have to speak to the provider(s), negotiate rates or verfiy connectivity. We have done that for you and one booking through us does it all.
One-Stop Shop. This is an exclusive Eurovision service which provides the user with a single point of contact, Eurovision, for facilities and circuits. One-Stop Shop service provides worldwide broadcast solutions which combine Eurovision's global transmission capabilities with production options (stand-up positions, studios and playout facilities). One booking is sent to Eurovision and we arrange the standup position, studio and/or playout with our One Stop Shop partner, then plan transmission circuits on our network. You later get one invoice for the full service.
Unilateral services provides uplink and/or downlink facilities from/at Eurovision Members' premises (also called CNCTs), or Eurovision Gateways to the Eurovision global satellite network worldwide. The unilateral service differs from OSS in that the onsite facilities (playout or standup etc) are not arranged by Eurovision.
A space segment is the satellite space only. If a client has an antenna, that means a transportable antenna like an sng or a fixed antenna at a location (ie a production company), a space segment can be booked and the price charged is only for the satellite space. Antenna and uplink are not included.
Space segment differs from a unilateral in that the antenna or uplink cost and booking by Eurovision is not included.
Space segment differs from an OSS booking in that the facilities (ie production standup or playout) and the antenna to access the satellite are directly arranged and paid for by the client and NOT arranged or paid for by Eurovision.
Any Eurovision.net user can register to receive OSS ratecard updates.
1. Go to www.eurovision.net
2. Log in (top right corner)
3. Go to My Eurovision -> My Newsletters
4. Tick "Transmissions (UNI) and production facilities (OSS)" as shown on the picture below.
5. Click on Submit on the bottom of the page.
A Eurovision Special Event is a news (and/or sports) operation where Eurovision producers and editors determine sufficient need exists from members and clients to create, manage and operate facilities at a remote location.
Eurovision producers provide and manage on site services from production to transmission. Facilities can include workspace, editing, standup positions and tape playouts. In some ways, it is the same as an OSS except not from a fixed OSS partner location.
Usually, special events are created and managed at planned events such as summits or film festivals and elections as well as breaking news locations. Some past events include the Hungary toxic spill, Haiti earthquake, Iceland volcano, European Council Summits, Cannes, Venice and Berlin Film Festivals, US and UK elections and more.
The page with the list of all special events is under the NEWS & EVENTS menu. The Special Events main page lists all special events which Eurovision is currently running or plans to run, along with the start and end dates of each.
You can do this various ways. Click on the NEWS & EVENTS main page and click the BOOK button to the right of event you want.
You can also click on TRANSMISSION SERVICES and click on the black box icon SPECIAL EVENT.

Clients are asked to check this page prior to their confirmed services since locations and numbers can change.
This happens when we have more than one standup position from a single location. It is very important that you dial the correct IFB number for your standup position; otherwise you may not be able to talk to your correspondent.
You can find the standup position number on the synopsis. In the first part of the synopsis, you should see your origin which should include a standup number. If it says STUP6 or STANDUP6, call IFB 6, and so on.
In the case of breaking news, Eurovision may be planning a special event but has not yet confirmed facilities. A quick email expressing interest including your possible live times to newsoperations@eurovision.net could help our producers determine interest in the case of events where interest is not immediately clear.
If it turns out a special event will not be created by Eurovision Special Events, please check the list of our One-Stop Shop and Unilateral origins as we may have a partner close by.
Unequipped workspace refers to the skeleton space with tables, chairs and power/computer connections. Broadcast equipment such as cameras, editing equipment etc. is usually not included in a workspace unless in cases of special arrangement.
