The 66th Venice Film Festival takes place at
the Venice Lido and runs from 2 to 12 September 2009.

Award-winning director Ang Lee will chair the International Jury. Opening the festival will be the film "Baaria," written
and directed by Oscar-winner Giuseppe Tornatore. The Venice Film Festival will honour John Lasseter and the directors of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios with a career award at this year's festival. Also known as the Mostra in Italian, this film festival is one of the oldest and most prestigious events in Europe. Eurovision Special Events, in association with RAI, will provide full broadcast facilities to services covering the Venice Film Festival.
