Airbus A380
More

Eurovision World Feeds continue to provide full coverage of the Airbus A380's journey to commercial service.

The world's largest commercial airliner, the 555-seat Airbus A380 was delivered on 15 October 2007 to Singapore Airlines in a ceremony at Airbus in Toulouse, France.

The A380 will enter commercial service on Thursday 25 October 2007, with a special return flight between Singapore and Sydney. The majority of seats on this flight were sold at auction on eBay and all proceeds will be donated to charities.

The A380 commences scheduled service between Singapore and Sydney on Sunday 28 october 2007.

In 2006 The A380's Route Proving was provided free of rights and free of charge by the Eurovision World Feed Service.

The double-decker aircraft started its technical route-proving exercise in November 2006. This was the final trial required for Type Certification, which was granted in December of 2006.

The trial carried out function and reliability tests at key airports around the world. The aircraft had to make over 150 flight hours on a continuous typical airline schedule, performing in its normal operational environment. The A380 was operated by Airbus flight crews with the participation of Airworthiness Authority pilots from EASA & FAA.
