CANNES FILM FESTIVAL. From the homes of the Golden Palm, Golden Bear and Golden Lion,
broadcasters worldwide rely on Eurovision to provide comprehensive production and transmission facilities.  Broadcasters count on Eurovision for news and entertainment footage from Europe's major film festivals in Cannes, Berlin and Venice.

The Cannes gathering in May is the world's largest film festival. Working in close collaboration with the organisers and the host broadcaster, Eurovision Special Events offered standard and customised services to over 35 channels and programme makers covering the Cannes Film Festival.

Three live standup positions and a fully equipped studio offered impressive views on the Palais des Festivals' red carpet, the famous Croisette and the Mediteranean Sea.

Facilities also included a wireless Link system for live positions from various locations, ENG crews, non linear editing, access to the festival coverage, multi-format playout and connectivity to the Eurovision Global Network.

Comments
Marc Stanislas  > Producer
'Entertainment or news?  Our first Cannes Film Festival in 1997 consisted of one single output SNG on a rear parking lot. Today we have an entire four storey building facing the red carpet with five permanent ouputs... we have come a long way.

'Newsrooms now take fun seriously and place high quality entertainment at the heart of its schedules. Greater media choice makes it easier for people to find their preferred content.

'The daily number of transmissions from this festival location is such that it makes an average size breaking news event look almost like a non story!'

Barton Macfarlane  > Director, Newsnight Review, BBC
'Marc, many thanks for all your help last week. We are all very pleased with the programme that was produced with such professionalism. And your team at the feed point are always very helpful. Here's to next year!'

Nick Rylance > Producer, GMTV
'Thanks Marc for all your help in Cannes - once again a success.'
